“The father of a Washington College student who was assaulted last month on campus is offering $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of his son’s assailant. Dominick Ioquinto, a retired New York City police officer, said his son was beaten unconscious during an attempted robbery at knifepoint shortly before 11 p.m. on January 22. According to Ioquinto, the lone assailant knocked his son to the ground and threatened him with a knife. Ioquinto said his son grabbed the knife, but the assailant continued to throw punches. After the student regained consciousness, he tried to walk to the “”blue box”” campus telephone nearby. Two students saw Ioquinto’s son fall and alerted the college’s public safety department. Local police also were contacted. Ioquinto’s son was taken by ambulance to Chester River Hospital Center, where he was treated for bruises and lacerations and released.
According to police, the victim described his attacker as a black man in his mid 20s, last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and a black ball cap. He had no facial hair. Anyone with information is asked to call lead investigator Sgt. Glenn Owens of the Kent County Sheriff’s Office at 410-778-2279.
