Kent County Humane Society Director Ed Birkmire has been talking with Rock Hall Mayor Jay Jacobs about the town’s feral cat problem. It is not a new problem, but apparently it is getting dramatically worse. Birkmire went to the Council of Governments meeting last month in Millington, and reportedly heard about the feral cat problem from more than one local leader. There are no laws in place to deal with the problem, so the county commissioners must agree to appropriate rules to handle the problem.
