Former WCTR Owner Jody Taylor Morrison Dies At 76

“Jody Taylor Morrison died at Johns Hopkins after battling leukemia for more than a year. She was 76. Morrison and her late husband, David Taylor, owned WCTR from 1985 until about 2002, when they sold WCTR to former Baltimore radio personality Brian Wilson. Wilson then sold it to current owner Dick Gelfman.

Morrison was well-known in Kent and Queen Anne’s Counties. Morrison recorded literally hundreds of “”Profiles”” involving local leaders and luminaries, as a way to preserve the area’s history. She was actively involved in the activities of the Shrewsbury Parish Church and served on the Board of the Rock Hall Fire Department and the Kent County Humane Society. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Kent County Humane Society, 10720 Augustine Herman Hwy, Chestertown, MD 21620 or the Rock Hall Vol. Fire Co., PO Box 577, Rock Hall, MD 21661.
