Retired MSP Lt. Gary Foster is the new police chief in Ridgely. Foster, who at one point ran the MSP Centreville Barracks, replaced Merl Evans who retired about a month ago after holding the job for ten years. Foster says major priorities will be stepping up ‘community policing’ and finding some new officers, who he hopes to have on board by the end of the year.
