Comptroller Peter Franchot wants to know if Open Space funds can be used to keep the swimming pool at Chesapeake College running until Queen Anne’s County can build its own community swimming pool. A community group and the Queen Anne’s County Commissioners have been looking at ways to keep the pool operating, now scheduled to close at the end of August. At their June 9 meeting, Commissioners said the county should take over operation of the college pool if the private citizens group cannot reach an agreement with the college by June 30.
