All are welcome to the Feast of Love, a Christmas dinner for the entire community at First United Methodist Church. The dinner will take place December 25 from 1 p.m. to about 3 p.m. The church is located at 105 N. Mill Street between High and Calvert Streets in Chestertown. There is no charge for the dinner. To insure there is adequate food, anyone planning to attend the dinner should call the church office at 410-778-2977 for reservations by December 23. Those who need transportation can call in advance for someone to take them to the church. Volunteers are needed to help in the kitchen or on the serving line. Donations to support the dinner can be sent to the church or presented at the door. Last year more than 100 holiday meals were served.
A traditional Christmas dinner will be served including roast turkey, stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, peas and beans. Drink choices will include hot cider, coffee, and hot and cold tea, and there will be plenty of dessert choices. Music and caroling will add to the festivities.
