Gala Benefits Birthing Center

The Memorial Hospital Foundation rolls out the red carpet for an elegant evening of fun and fundraising on Saturday, October 17 at 6:30 p.m. The Gala will contribute to the cost of a planned expansion to the Birthing Center at The Memorial Hospital at Easton.

This black tie event will be held at Talbot Country Club. The menu for the gourmet dinner reflects the elegance of the evening with Veal Oscar as the main course and a dramatic Baked Alaska for dessert. The popular band Golden Touch will move guests of all ages onto the dance floor with classics from the 50s, 60s and 70s and today’s hits.

Gala chair Carol Rolle and her committee have planned a social event that benefits the growing needs of mothers and their babies. “This event supports such a good cause,” Rolle says. “Today, expectant mothers have high expectations about where they deliver their babies. They want to have their babies in the room with them and they want the setting to be homey and comfortable.”
The Memorial Hospital Birthing Center is a comfortable place for mothers and their families to welcome a new child. Private birthing suites are equipped with state of the art medical equipment used to ensure a safe delivery. Each suite provides homelike amenities including a Jacuzzi tub, a sleep couch for the mother’s support person, a TV/video unit, a rocking chair, and table and chairs for meals.
Rolle adds, “For those of us who are parents and grandparents we want to be sure that our children have the best experience when they come to our local hospital for birthing services. This Gala recognizes the importance of caring for the next generation.”

Tickets for the Memorial Hospital Gala are $175. Purchase tickets online at www.shorehealth.org/gala. For information about sponsoring the Gala and to reserve tickets, call 410-822-1000, ext. 5481.
