Galena Mayor Working Hard To Keep Books Balanced

Galena Mayor Harry Pisapia says it is getting tougher to keep the books balanced. The fiscal 2010 budget is now on the table. Property taxes will probably stay the same at 24-percent and bring in $12,000 more this year compared to last. Pisapia says drops in other sources of revenue will mean a net loss this coming fiscal year. At the same time, full-time town workers will get a three-percent raise. A public hearing is scheduled for next month.
