“The Queen Anne’s County Garden Club will hold its November 10th meeting at 1 pm in the Queen Anne’s County Public Library at 121 S. Commerce Street, Centreville, Md. Guests are welcome.
The Program, “”A VIRTUAL GARDEN TOUR””, follows a garden renovation in Western Maryland. Guest speaker, Mary Ellen Bay, born in Wye Mills, returns to the Eastern Shore with forty-three years of experience with her landscape and design business of gardens and interiors. Twenty years ago, she responded to the trend of requests for plant and hardscape materials for older homes. She found a need and filled it. Her presentation is of her log cabin home and the story of the site’s transition over time. She has concentrated on establishing year-round interest in her gardens.
Mrs. Bay has 3 1/2 years as an Engineering Major at the University of Maryland and a BFA in Design from the Maryland Institute of Art. She has been a member of the Federated Garden Clubs of Maryland for forty-four years. She has been a Master Judge for thirty-three years. She is a member of Carroll Garden Club in Westminster, has been a director of FGCofMD, District V, and currently serves as Landscape Design Chairman for Maryland. Her many awards are testimony of unlimited talents. “”The challenge,”” she claims, “”is to have a design catch the eye, enhance its location and give pleasure.”””
