Giant Food Stores stepped into history by becoming the first grocery chain to offer free generic antibiotics to all customers with a prescription. The grocer’s first-of-its-kind promotion is slated to run until at least March 21. The free drug offer applies to any type of generic antibiotic used to treat a list of illnesses that commonly occur during the cold and flu season. It is estimated the program will save customers anywhere from $10 to $24 dollars per prescription.
