The Shore Health System 2009 Golf Invitational held on Monday, September 14 raised $44,000 for Shore Regional Breast Center located at The Memorial Hospital at Easton.
The 24 foursomes who accepted the invitation enjoyed a day on the Talbot Country Club course. Each golfer received a deluxe gift package, which included a golf shirt and vest and a sleeve of golf balls. A full lunch was served during play and the tournament ended with an awards reception.
On behalf of the Memorial Hospital Foundation, organizer of the golf tournament, Pat O’Shea, director of development, says, “We appreciate the support given by so many generous sponsors for this special event. I extend special thanks to Butch Townsend for once again serving as event chair.” The presenting sponsor for the event was Pepsi Bottling Ventures. The Clark Charitable Foundation was the Masters sponsor. Birdie sponsor was KPMG and Pro sponsor was Willow Construction. The first place gross team was Butch Townsend, Scott Beatty, Will Shannahan and John Tenuta playing for Shore Bancshares. The second place gross foursome was Charles Capute, Neil Brayton, Bob Hammel and Bruce Hammonds. Third place gross winners from Tidewater Physical Therapy were Scott Murdock, Randy Martin, Steve Miller and Norm Beck.
Placing first net were Steve Covey, Steve Ford, Al Turner and Geoff Turner playing for Choptank Transport. The second place net team from The National Bank of Cambridge was Lance Bramble, Frank Hastings, Bill Marshall and Levi Ruark. Placing third place net were Pepsi Bottling Ventures team members David Goslee, Brian Briggs, Rob Alexander and Jeff Gordy.
Closest to the pin honors went to Art Townsend, Butch Townsend, Janet Larson and Levi Ruark.
