“Hospice of Queen Anne’s Bereavement Program offers bereavement services to people of all ages in Queen Anne’s County who are living with grief after the death of someone loved. These services are available to anyone, regardless of the cause of death.
Our Grief Management Class is a place where bereaved adults can meet others who have also experienced significant losses. Participation in this class may prevent grief-related problems later in one’s life. The class is not group therapy, but it certainly can be therapeutic. It is not a social group, but friendships often form as class members get to know each other. It is a place to learn more about grief and how to deal with it, in the presence of others who understand. Each class will focus on topics related to grief, and will include activities, teaching, open discussion, and a special DVD about handling the holidays.
The next series of classes will meet for nine Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:30 in the hospice office in Centreville, starting on October 21 and ending on December 16. Participants are asked to make a commitment to attend as many classes as possible. There is no fee for this class, but participants must register prior to attending.
