Adkins Arboretum will host its annual Halloween Haunted Hayride on Fri., Oct. 24 from 8 to 10 p.m. and Sat., Oct. 25 from 7 to 10 p.m. This popular Halloween event is not for the faint of heart! Those brave enough to enter the forest will discover wicked witches cackling over a hideous brew, ghosts and goblins appearing from the night sky and the deep dark woods and a headless horseman following in their tracks. Dig up your best disguise and arrive 30 minutes early to compete in the costume contest. This event is co-sponsored with Tuckahoe State Park, Eastern Shore Jousting Association and the Tuckahoe Equestrian Center. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for children. Directions: Adkins Arboretum is located adjacent to Tuckahoe State Park. From Route 50, take Route 404 east to Hillsboro (west of Denton). Turn northeast onto Route 480 and immediately turn left onto Eveland Road. The Arboretum is two miles ahead, on the left.

Adkins Arboretum is a 400-acre native garden and preserve at the headwaters of the Tuckahoe Creek in Caroline County.
