Healthy Living for Older Adults

Grasonville Senior Center is pleased to announce its Fall line up of Healthy Living for Older Adults classes. These classes are designed to improve health through education and awareness training. There will be an emphasis on Line Dance, Aerobics, Pilates, Arthritis Exercise, and Tai Chi. Instructors offer individual coaching within a group setting. Line Dancing offers great exercise for mind and body on Mondays at 1:30pm. Rock’n aerobics offers an immense cardio work out on Tuesdays at 9:00am and Thursdays at 10:30am. Pilates on the Ball class requires an exercise mat and stability ball to improve core strength on Tuesdays at 10:15am and Thursdays at 11:45am. Arthritis Exercise will reduce stiffness of the joints and keep joints flexible; this class is offered on Tuesdays a 12:30pm. Tai chi Exercise on Thursdays at 9:00am teaches graceful continuous movements combined with breathing control to promote relaxation, balance, flexibility, muscle tone, and coordination. No experience is necessary and beginners are encouraged to try something new. Participants must be age 60+ and should wear comfortable clothing and shoes to class. These courses are provided by Chesapeake College Division of Continuing Education and Workforce Training. Registration cost just $10.00 and entitles the student to take as many classes as they choose during the 12 week Fall semester. All classes begin the first week of October and run through December to help you look and feel your very best. Grasonville Senior Center is conveniently located at 4802 Main Street, Grasonville.
