Historic Stevensville Steps Into The Holidays

It’s just another way that historic downtown Stevensville and the local arts community is pulling together; unifying activities and receptions as a way to attract local business and community spirit. On Saturday, December 6th artist galleries, studios and novelty shops will be all aglow with holiday spirit. Come listen to Mrs. Claus read “Twas the Night Before Christmas”, get your picture taken with Santa, witness a tree lighting ceremony or just shop for unique and artistic gifts.

Fourteen local businesses will participate in the day’s events including two newcomers, Sandy Feet, a beach novelty shop, and Exhale Yoga, a new yoga studio. Both businesses opened their doors for the first time on Black Friday, November 28th. Festivities run from 11am to 8pm and include; a KIFA Holiday Art Show beginning at 11am, a reading of “Twas the Night Before Christmas” by Mrs. Claus at 2pm, pictures with Santa from 2pm to 4pm, a special student art show at Bannon Studio beginning at 2pm, and an art reception at Island Arts, featuring Jeanne Noble and Thelma Green from 5pm to 8pm immediately following a tree lighting ceremony.

All participating shops will serve refreshments and have special door prizes. There will also be local food vendors selling cider, hot chocolate and hotdogs and dinner specials at No Place Tavern. So come join the fun and support your local businesses.
