Irish and More at Final Summer Concert

The luck of the Irish comes in the form of musician and entertainer Sean Fleming. This versatile performer returns to “Thursdays in the Park”, the Queen Anne’s County Arts Council’s annual summer concert series on June 25 at Historic Kent Manor Inn and Restaurant in Stevensville, Maryland. This is the first time that Fleming will present a more intimate concert featuring singing and fiddle with music from Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales.

Born in Killarney, Fleming has talent that is as wide and varied as his lifestyle. From his birth in a Golf Club House (…it’s no wonder I’m a golf nut,” he says), to his many appearances in the U.S., including the Merv Griffin Show and headlining at Carnegie Hall, Fleming enjoys life and music to their fullest. He began playing traditional Irish music in Irish Dance halls before forming the Rocketeers Irish Showband. The Rocketeers toured throughout the U.S. and Canada playing in major cities such as Chicago, Boston, New York, San Francisco and Toronto. His first big break came with the help of Merv Griffin when he was chosen from the audience to perform on Merv’s show. This led to several more appearances over the next few years and some great experiences. He has shared the spotlight with artists such as the Beach Boys, David Soul, Della Reese and Rodney Dangerfield. He has barely slowed down since his career began, having moved to New York where his career has taken him around the country for performances, television and radio shows.

Concerts begin at 7 pm. The series is presented by the Queen Anne’s County Arts Council and sponsored by the Maryland State Arts Council, the United Way of Queen Anne’s County, Congressman Frank Kratovil, and Dr. James Lucas. Door prizes are provided by Prime Outlets of Queenstown, and media sponsorship has been provided by Tidewater Trader. Bring blankets or chairs; picnicking is encouraged, food is available for sale at this location. Concerts will be held rain or shine.
