Thelma Green and Jeanne Noble are the featured artists of Island Arts for the month of December. Both artists are members of the new Kent Island artist and artisan co-op gallery and will have their work prominently displayed here all month.
Thelma Green watercolor paintings come from a collage of her ideas, or from places she has visited here or abroad. Although she loves color, she paints pastoral scenes from her serene mood, or from a passionate color palette.
Jeanne paints in both acrylics and watercolors. Her love of color remains the basic element in her art, as does her hard edge. Although not the only subject she paints, Jeanne calls her floral paintings ‘portraits’, as she tries to express the individual character of the flowers she paints.
A reception for the artists will be held on Saturday, December 6, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Island Arts. Free to the public. Refreshments will be served. Island Arts is located at 319 Love Point Road in historic downtown Stevensville, Maryland. For additional information and directions, please call Island Arts at (410) 604-0721.
