July 3rd Independence Day Celebration Fireworks & Entertainment at Kent Narrows

Fireworks will light up the Kent Narrows sky July 3rd as Queen Anne’s County government and local businesses join forces and funds to create an Independence Day Celebration which includes family fun, food, and of course – the fireworks. The rain-date, for fireworks only, is July 5th.

Festivities begin at 6:00 p.m. on the waterfront grounds of Chesapeake Exploration Center, located on the northwest side of Kent Narrows off Piney Narrows Road. Enjoy music, face painting, kids’ rides, balloon artists and a magic show. Local non-profit groups will sell treats such as hot dogs, funnel cakes, ice cream and other festival food and drinks.

The up close and personal view of the fireworks display begins at 9:20 p.m. There is no charge for admission to the event, and parking is also free; however, some fees may apply for children’s rides. Blankets and lawn chairs are recommended for prime fireworks-viewing comfort

Parking for the event will be at the old Kent Narrows Factory Outlets and all Kent Narrows public-parking areas.  A shuttle will be provided throughout the Kent Narrows for those who are unable to walk to the grounds.  Route 18 at the drawbridge will be closed to traffic and open to pedestrians from 7:00-11:00 p.m.  All traffic will be diverted to Route 50 to access both the east and west sides of the Narrows.
