“The Kent Island Federation of Arts Annual July Photography Show will be judged by Robert Madden. Madden is a National Geographic Photojournalist featured on the National Geographic Channel, Saturday June 27th @ 9 PM on the Special “”Lava Hunter; National Geo’s Most Amazing Photos””.
Bob Madden worked for National Geographic Magazine for over 30 years. He has photographed on all seven continents and published over twenty stories for the magazine. His travels immersed him in a variety of different cultures and unique customs. He has photographed remote uncivilized places such as the Yanomamo Indians in the jungles of Venezuela, but also documented life on the uncertain streets of Brooklyn, New York. Bob’s last article for the magazine, Chesapeake Bay: Life in the Balance, was especially significant to him, as he was able to photograph the region where he currently makes his home. Bob Madden lives on Kent Island in Stevenville.
The 13th Annual Photography Show will run from July 8- August 1, 2009.
The Judged Show will include Professional, Amateur, Youth and Silver Heron (65+) Divisions. The show will include Portraits, Nature, Black and White , Abstract and Experimental photography as well as a newly added Other category. Deadline for registration in the Photography Show is Monday, June 29, 2009. A reception and awards ceremony will be held on Saturday, July 11th from 3-5 pm.
