The Kent Island High School dance team won two first place awards at the Mid-Atlantic Pom and Dance Association regional dance on January 31. The team, under the coaching of Kent Island High School teacher Amy Tedford, competed against primarily western shore schools in their division, winning first place titles in Prop Novelty and Jazz. By placing first, Kent Island’s dance team qualified to compete in both categories at the State Championships, which will be held on March 21st at the University of Maryland College Park.
