Kent County Schools Get Out A Day Early

On May 20, Nancy Grasmick granted the Board of Education’s request to waive one day and end the school year a day early. Schools in Kent County will recess after a half a day on June 6. At the monthly meeting of county superintendents on May 9, Grasmick announced she would consider a request for a one-day waiver from any school district whose last day was a Monday provided the district had met the required clock hours and 180 days of instruction. Kent County met the criteria, according to Superintendent Anthony Pack, who requested the waiver after receiving approval from four board members. The waiver does not affect teachers who will continue to work on Monday and Tuesday, June 9 and 10.
