The Kent Island Young Gardeners, sponsored by the Kent Island Garden Club, began their new year on September 15, 2009. This is a group for youths between eight and twelve who are residents of Queen Anne’s County, and who want to learn about plants and the environment.
The group meets at the Kent Island Branch of the Queen Anne’s County Library on the third Tuesday of the month from 4:15 until 5:30 during the fall months of September, October, and November, and then in the spring during March, April, and May This year the group will be learning about floral arrangements. Each session will involve learning about flowers and putting them in an arrangement, and then practicing what they learn by making their own arrangement.
If you have any questions or would like to enroll your child, call Nancy O’Connor at 443-249-0646. She will be leading the group and is a member of the Kent Island Garden Club as well as a Queen Anne’s County Master Gardener.
