Kent Island Young Gardeners will begin their fourth year, under the sponsorship of the Kent Island Garden Club, on September 16. This is a group for youths between the ages of 8 to 12 who want to learn about plants and the environment. They must be a resident of Queen Anne Co.
The group will be meeting at the Kent Island Public Library on the third Tuesday of the month from 4:15 to 5:30 p.m. during the fall months of September, October, and November and then in the spring during March, April, and May. At each session the youths will learn about some facet of plants and gardening, and then will have a craft activity that relates to the lesson.
If you have any questions or would like to enroll your child, call Nancy O’Connor at 443-249-0646. She will be leading the group and is a member of the Kent Island Garden Club as well as a Queen Anne Co. Master Gardener. Your child must be enrolled to attend as the membership is limited to 12 children.
