Shore Health System has applied to the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) for the prestigious designation of Magnet. The Magnet designation recognizes excellence in nursing services.

Appraisers from ANCC will be visiting Shore Health System facilities on August 18, 19 and 20. Patients, family members, staff and interested parties who would like to provide comments are encouraged to do so. Anyone may send comments via e-mail, fax and direct mail. All phone comments to the Magnet Program Office must be followed up in writing.

ANCC assures anyone who contacts them that all comments are confidential and never shared with Shore Health System. Comments may be anonymous but must be in writing. Comments must be received by ANCC by Thursday, August 13, 2009. Shore Health System, Inc. has submitted information for the ANCC appraisers to review. That information is available, twenty-four hours a day, for review in the main lobby of Dorchester General Hospital, 300 Byrn Street, Cambridge, and at The Memorial Hospital at Easton, 219 S. Washington Street, Easton.
