Opening day for the Edward and Mildred Freeman Outpatient Center at The Memorial Hospital at Easton is scheduled for Monday, August 18. The 14,500-square-foot facility has been named for the late Edward and Mildred Freeman. The Easton couple’s bequest to the Memorial Hospital Foundation was the largest bequest from an estate ever received in the history of the hospital.
The Freeman Outpatient Center is located next to the Emergency Department on the south side of the hospital, facing Earle Avenue. The public parking lot closest to the Outpatient Center is accessible from Washington Street and from Earle Avenue.
Free valet parking is available at the Freeman Outpatient Center entrance, Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Valet parking service will continue to be provided in the circle driveway at the hospital’s lobby entrance on Washington Street.
The Freeman Outpatient Center will become the main entrance to the hospital for outpatient and surgical services. The first stop patients make when they enter the Center is in the pleasant Registration area and comfortable waiting room. Services operating in the Freeman Outpatient Center include Shore Comprehensive Pain Care, the Infusion Center and the Short Stay Unit.
Shore Comprehensive Pain Care offers a multi-disciplinary approach to the treatment of chronic pain. The Infusion Center offers a private, comfortable setting in which patients receive intravenous medication and blood transfusions. Nurses in the Short Stay Unit prepare patients for outpatient cardiac catheterizations, interventional radiology and other procedures.
For anyone receiving services at the Outpatient Center, a phlebotomy area for routine lab services as well as therapeutic phlebotomy will also be available.
Visitors coming to Memorial Hospital to visit hospitalized patients will continue to use the lobby entrance on Washington Street. Patients who come to the hospital for direct admissions and for Birthing Center services will also use the lobby entrance daily between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. These patients will use the Emergency Department entrance when the Admissions Office is closed.
