Mid-Shore Choose Three Plein Air–Easton! Competition Winners to be Announced June 5

Local artists residing in Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne’s, and Talbot County will have the chance to showcase their work and vie for a spot in the Plein Air–Easton! national competition via the 5th Annual Mid-Shore Choose Three Plein Air–Easton! Competition. The Mid Shore paint out began May 21, 2009. On June 3, each artist turned in two finished and framed (but unsigned) works. Paintings and drawings must depict outdoor scenes from anywhere on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. An exhibit will be displayed at Chesapeake Bay Heritage Gallery at 3 S. Harrison Street from June 5 to July 29. A panel of three qualified judges will convene on June 4, followed by an awards presentation at 7pm during Easton’s First Friday Gallery Walk on June 5 from 5-8pm. The top three winners will automatically qualify to be entered into the Plein AirEaston! national competition. During the exhibit’s run, visitors may vote for the People’s Choice Award, which will be presented July 29.
