Millington will become the 23rd member of the Eastern Shore of Maryland Educational Consortium Energy Trust, a move that could save thousands on energy costs. ESMEC Energy Trust saves money on electricity for its members by bidding on the wholesale market. Local members include the Kent County school district, county government and the town of Rock Hall. Since it joined in April of last year; Rock Hall has saved over $23,000 in energy expenses. Conservatively, Millington could save an estimated $10,000 a year.
