Names Released in Bay Bridge Crash

Authorities have identified the driver of the Mountaire Farms 18-wheeler that still remains in the Bay a day after the truck tragically drove through the concrete barrier in a 4 AM accident Sunday morning.  The driver of the truck was identified as John Robert Short, of Willards, MD.  Short, 57, died in the accident.  A source (who requested to remain anonymous) indicated that Short was not wearing a seat belt.   The investigation is still continuing.

Candy Lynn Baldwin, 19, of Millington and Trisha Ann Michele Carrigan, 21, of California, were both injured and taken to Shock Trauma in Baltimore.  Baldwin was driving a Chevrolet Camaro with Carrigan as a passenger.  Baldwin remains in Shock Trauma, while Carrigan has been released.

Another vehicle, a Toyota Prius, was involved in the accident but the two passengers in that vehicle were uninjured.

Authorities expect to reopen the Eastbound bridge Monday afternoon.
