It looks as if a new sewer system to serve properties along Chesterville Forest Road near Millington is approved if the state comes up with the money. Kent County commissioners held a final public hearing on the issue, and there were no objections. County wastewater officials were told to move ahead to get state funding. Kent County is hoping for some $2.3-million in grants, along with about $400,000 in loan debt. Some of the money would be made back by charging user fees. Chesterville Forest Road has more than 25 failed septic systems and almost as many vacant properties.
