CRUISING AND TOURING ALASKA
To visit Alaska is an once-in-a-lifetime dream for many people. Such a trip is not inexpensive, so it is important to make the best use of the time and resources you set aside for the experience. This session will present an overview of the diverse regions to consider touring or cruising, as well as various travel formats to make the best use of your time and budget. Course fee: $25. FLOWER ARRANGING FOR THE HOLIDAYS
Create beautiful fall and Christmas centerpieces, including transitional designs that can be used throughout the holiday season. Arrangements will feature seasonal fruits and vegetables; mixed winter greens; fresh flowers and more. This class is suitable for students with no prior flower arranging experience/instruction. Each week
everyone will make a flower arrangement to take home. Course fee: $50. Tuition: $10. CAKE DECORATING – (ADVANCED)
Create a take-home (delicious) masterpiece! Students will learn advanced flower techniques such as basket weave; string work; stacking and tiering cake constructions; wedding, and anniversary cakes. WIND TURBINE GENERATORS
A wind turbine is a rotating machine which converts the kinetic energy in wind into mechanical energy. This course will provide an overview of the wind turbine industry, focusing primarily on small commercial and residential applications. Turbine placement, characteristics and performance will also be discussed. Integrated wind systems with other renewable energy sources will be covered as well. Course fee: $10.
