One Free WeeK YMCA Membership To Be Offered

The YMCA of Talbot County encourages all citizens of Talbot County and surrounding areas to participate in health and wellness activities during “America On the Move Week with the YMCA” September 20 through September 27.

During “America On the Move Week with the YMCA”, families and individuals can participate in various activities that promote moving more and making smarter food choices. Each day, participants can count their “steps” taken while engaging in any form of physical activity, such as swimming, biking and dancing, and other group or family activities that promote well being.

To help community members explore and participate in a wide variety of health and wellness activities, the YMCA of Talbot County is opening its doors to the community starting Monday, September 21 through September 27. During “America On the Move Week”, the community can stop by the Easton or St. Michaels location of the YMCA of Talbot County for their FREE one week temporary membership card.

The YMCA recognizes that maintaining a healthy lifestyle is critical to the nation’s efforts to combat the crisis of chronic diseases such as heart disease, cancer, and diabetes – the leading causes of death in the United States. While such diseases are prevalent and costly, they are also preventable through healthy eating and physical activity.

Participants of all ages can go to the YMCA of Talbot County to participate in a wide variety of activities, such as ZUMBA fitness classes, beginner exercise sessions, children’s fitness opportunities, and various Healthier Eating presentations during “America On the Move Week”!
