The Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office says a Pennsylvania woman with two children in her car is facing drunken driving charges. A deputy was called to Outlet Center Drive for an unresponsive woman in a silver Mazda. A witness told Deputy Iris Foster he saw the Mazda hit a pole and a parked car. The sheriff’s office says the driver, 38-year-old Melissa Hartman of Waynesboro, Pa., told Foster she had consumed a bottle of vodka. Hartman’s 4-year-old daughter and 8-year-old son were in the car. The sheriff’s office says Hartman was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while impaired by alcohol, reckless driving and negligent driving. The children were released to their father, and a district court commissioner released Hartman on personal recognizance.
