“Sheriff R. Gery Hofmann credits the media coverage of the lookout for Anthony Padila wanted for the armed robbery at Court Yard Inn near Chestertown generating several tips on his possible whereabouts. Detectives checked the various locations and apparently caused him to get on the “”move””.
Yesterday, Chief J. Pignataro of Centreville Police stopped a Jaguar passenger car in town and found Anthony Padila to be the driver and took him into custody. The Jaguar had earlier been reported stolen in Kent County.
Padila was served a Circuit Court Arrest Warrant on an unrelated matter and held on a $3000 preset bail. On today’s date, he was served the Armed Robbery charges and is currently waiting to see the District Court Commissioner. Additional charges are pending.”
