Pinkney Park Rededication

The Queen Anne’s County Board of Commissioners held a Pinkney Park Rededication Ceremony, September 23, to commemorate recent additions and improvements to the park which include; a handicap accessible playground, a septic system to facilitate new restrooms, pavilion lights and a resurfaced basketball court. Pinkney Park, in Pondtown, is about 12 acres of open parkland surrounded by mature trees. It is an idyllic setting for family gatherings as well as baseball, soccer and basketballs games. The new restroom facilities and pavilion lighting are assets that make these grounds even more family friendly. During the ceremony, Commissioner Courtney M. Billups said he hopes county residents will take the opportunity to visit county parks they’ve never seen. There are many gems in the county’s park system, said Billups, and they are all just a short drive away.
