Precious Metal Clay Lacy Bead

Transforming clay into silver is a fascinating process and yields dazzling results. In this one-day workshop with artist and instructor Janice Colvin, students will learn to craft a silver bead using PMC3 (syringe). The finished bead is large enough to be the focal point of a necklace or chain. Registered students will be given a kit that includes PMC3 and a cubic zirconia stone. Prior PMC knowledge is necessary for this class.

Students ages 16 and up will enjoy learning from Colvin who is an adventurous artisan and co-owner of Sea Foam Jewels. Fashioning casual and fine jewelry using sterling, imported crystal and glass beads, this web-based business is popular among jewelry lovers. The class will be held from 11 am to 4 pm on Saturday, October 18. The deadline for registration is October 10.

Fees are $98 for Arts Council Members, $118 for non-members and includes clay, and necessary tools. The class will be held at the Centre for the Arts, 206 S. Commerce St., Centreville, MD. Call 410.758.2520 or email arts4u@arts4u.info for more information.
