Queen Anne’s County authorities are investigating a bad check case at Prime Outlets in Queenstown. About two weeks ago, the outlet center called the Sheriff’s Office after two women wrote checks totaling more than $5,000 for clothing, perfume, shoes, and a fur coat. Some stores ran the checks through the telecheck system, and they all cleared until the following day when the stores discovered the checks were worthless. One of the women is from Silver Spring; the other was not immediately identified.
