QA Woman Wins Significant Court Battle

Carol Simmons is the Queen Anne’s County woman nearly beaten to death during a robbery attempt at the Chestertown Comfort Suites nearly two years ago. Simmons recovered physically, but not emotionally and wanted Workman’s Comp to pay for a home alarm system. Workman’s Comp refused, and the case made its way through the court system. Last week, the Court Of Special Appeals ruled in Simmons’ favor, saying alarm systems can be deemed ‘medically necessary’ if a doctor signs off on need.
