QAC Searches For Successor To Kratovil

Now that Frank Kratovil has been elected to Congress, work is underway to find his successor as Queen Anne’s County State’s Attorney. Kratovil will formally leave the office in early January to represent Maryland’s 1st District in Washington. Two years remain in his term as state’s attorney. Under the state constitution, resident judge Thomas Ross must appoint Kratovil’s successor. Ross says he has sent a notice to the Queen Anne’s County Bar Association to announce that he’s accepting letters of interest from qualified applicants. Ross says he plans to interview applicants during the first two weeks of December and to make a decision by December 15.
