The Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the discovery last week of the use of an ATM skimming device attached to the ATM at the Bank of America at 1114 Shopping Road on Kent Island. The device itself has not been located. The bank discovered the use, which occurred sometime after September 25. The bank contacted its fraud investigators who found 88 possible victims reporting unauthorized transactions being made on their accounts. The bank is contacting all affected customers and issuing new cards to them. The Sheriff’s Office is advising county residents to use extreme caution at any bank ATM located in the county.
