Queen Anne’s Chorale Announces Christmas Concert

The Queen Anne’s Chorale is pleased to announce its upcoming Christmas concert, entitled “Christmas Spirit”. As is tradition, the Chorale will present 2 concerts: Saturday, December 6 at Christ Church, Kent Island, 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, December 7 at Centreville United Methodist Church, 4:00 p.m.

Repertoire for this concert has been carefully selected to launch the Christmas Season. The program will be performed in two parts:

Part 1: “Rejoice in the Light” will feature Gracious Light by Gregory Norbet, Wake from Your Sleep by Dan Schutte, Christmas Day by Gustav Holst and Dale Wood, All is Well by Michael Smith, Wayne Kirkpatrick, and Lloyd Larson, and Henry Purcell’s Rejoice in the Lord Alway.

Part 2: “Surrounded by Angels” will feature Glory to God in the Highest by Geovanni Pergolesi, Angel’s Carol and Candlelight Carol by John Rutter, Ave, Ave, the Angel Sang by Robert Lau, and Carl Schalk’s Before the Marvel of this Night.

Throughout this program, the audience will be invited to join the Chorale in singing traditional Christmas carols. A chamber orchestra will accompany all selections, further enhancing this sacred and meaningful holiday performance.

There will be a reception after each performance so that audience and Chorale members may greet each other in the Christmas Spirit.

The Queen Anne’s Chorale is honored to have as its artistic director, the very talented and creative, Mr. Robert Huntington, who is in his seventh year directing the 55- voice singing ensemble. Accompanying the group is Ms Cynthia Bidinotto-Slate, whose excellence has also earned the group’s utmost respect.
