In its 21st year, the Queen Anne’s Chorale is pleased to announce the program schedule for its 08-09 concert season. Rehearsals for the Chorale will begin on September 8 and are regularly held each Monday from 7:00 -9:00 p.m. at the Centreville United Methodist Church just off of Rt. 213 in Centreville, MD. An “open” rehearsal for new member recruitment will be held on September 15 at 6:30 p.m. No audition is required and singers of all levels are invited to attend. Music will be provided and a reception will follow the rehearsal.
The Chorale is very honored to have as its artistic director, Mr. Robert Huntington, who begins his 7th year directing the 55 voice singing ensemble.
In keeping with tradition, the Chorale will present 2 Christmas concerts in December and a Spring Gala in April, 2009.
A “Holiday Concert” will launch the Christmas season with beautiful and joyful selections accompanied by a chamber orchestra. The audience will have the opportunity to participate in singing some favorite and traditional carols as well. There will be two performances on the following dates:
December 6, 2008, at Christ Episcopal Church, Kent Island, 7:30 p.m.
December 7, 2008 at Centreville United Methodist Church, 4:00 p.m.
The April Spring Gala, entitled “April Fools” will feature humor in music as the Chorale presents a program that will bring laughter, smiles, and special entertainment with a few surprises. This performance will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at the Todd Performing Arts Center, Chesapeake College, Wye Mills, MD and will begin at 7:30 p.m.
Also this season, an additional performance by the Queen Anne’s Chorale will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2008. The group will join the Pride of the Bay in concert at 7:30 p.m. at Todd Performing Arts Center, Chesapeake College, Wye Mills, MD.
