The past couple of years has seen on-again and off-again discussion about an upper shore regional jail project. Caroline County recently withdrew from the study, leaving the project in the hands of Kent and Queen Anne’s Counties. Initially, the jail was to service all three counties. The idea for a regional jail has been around since the early 50’s, and it is unclear whether the project will survive with only two counties involved.
