River Appreciation Group to Host Day of Paddling and Stream Cleanup

The River Appreciation Group is hosting the second annual River Appreciation and Paddle Day (RAD-PAD) on Saturday, May 16. The event, which will kick off at Easton Point Marina at 9:00 a.m., features canoeing and kayaking, environmental education exhibits, a stream cleanup, boat races, food, and more. The RAD-PAD will run until 3:00 p.m. and participants are encouraged to enjoy the river while picking up trash along the way. Bags and gloves will be provided. Canoes, kayaks, and rowboats are especially welcome, but there will be plenty to see and do for non-boaters as well.

This event is free and open to the public. . Participants are encouraged to bring their canoes and kayaks to paddle, race, sell, or trade! Some free canoes and kayaks as well as rentals will be available on a limited first come, first served basis. Also, an array of kayaks will be available for free trials.

The Rivers Appreciation Group is a consortium of citizens concerned about the health of local rivers and waterways.
