Robin Hood Shop Celebrates 52nd Birthday

On Tuesday, March 17, the Robin Hood Shop in Cambridge celebrated 52 years of serving the community and Dorchester General Hospital. Shoppers were lined up at the door when the shop opened for the popular annual event.

The birthday sale marks the beginning of the Robin Hood Shop’s spring season. The shop is stocked with spring fashions, household items, jewelry and books. Proceeds from Robin Hood Shop sales represent a significant percentage of the Auxiliary’s annual gifts to Dorchester General Hospital for equipment and services that benefit people throughout the region.

The Robin Hood Shop, which is operated by volunteers from the Dorchester General Hospital Auxiliary, accepts donations of gently worn clothing in excellent condition. The Auxiliary volunteers also welcome books, fashion accessories and well cared for housewares, such as linens, dishes and glasses. Donated items are marked at reasonable prices for resale, offering a good value to shoppers.

The Robin Hood Shop is located at 416 High Street in Cambridge. The shop is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. For more information about making a tax deductible donation of clothing and other goods and to learn about Auxiliary volunteer opportunities, call the Robin Hood Shop at 410-228-6339.
