Maryland highway officials agreed to dedicate Route 33 in honor of former county resident and famed abolitionist Frederick Douglass. St. Michaels resident George A. Seymour, who made the request, was notified via letter from Transportation Secretary John D. Porcari. Date for the dedication ceremony is yet to be determined.
