Scouts from Boy Scout Troop 495, sponsored by the Kent Island United Methodist Church, will be selling Trail’s End popcorn and Trail Mix, and taking donations to send treats to the Military beginning September 12th. Trail’s End products are not only delicious, but 70% of the price stays with local Scouting: 40% supports the Troop, and the other 30% goes to BSA’s Delmarva Council to maintain campgrounds and pay for area-wide programs. If you don’t want popcorn, the Military Option – a donation of $25 or $40 – sends Trail’s End treats to men and women serving our Country, while also supporting Troop 495. In the last 2 years Trail’s End has sent over 500 tons of treats on behalf of Boy Scouts to our Military both at home and Overseas. Through the generosity of Kent Islanders, Troop 495 sent $1200 in Military donations in 2008.
Orders can also be delivered to Kent Island homes and businesses from September 13th through October 4th only – call Debbie Krueger at 410-604-1389 for more information or to place an order.
Watch for the sale at Safeway, Food Lion and Queenstown Bank (Chester) on Saturdays, September 12, 19 and 26 from 9-1. Or stop by K-Mart, Classic Pizza or Carini’s Friday September 18 & 25 from 4-8. You’ll find the sale in the Hospitality Room of KIUMC on Sunday September 20, and at St. Christopher’s after masses the weekend of September 26.
In addition to the store sales and home delivery to fund the Troop, individual Scouts will be earning money for their personal Scouting needs by taking orders door-to-door during the months of September and October for product delivery in November, just in time for Holiday giving.
As we enter the 100th anniversary of Boy Scouts in America please support Scouting in your Community – buy delicious Trail’s End treats or make a Military Option donation through Troop 495.
