Seasonal Songs At Candlelight Cove And The Pines

Wye River Upper School students and faculty caroled and visited with residents of Candlelight Cover and The Pines in Easton on December 17, 2008, providing holiday spirit for the residents. The carolers, accompanied by musicians from WRUS music classes and directed by Juan Angarita, enjoyed lunch with the group at the final stop.

The opportunity provided WRUS music students with an occasion to play backup for the singers. Mr. Angarita noted that “this instance gave the music classes exposure, new to many, to a new audience in a new situation.” All students at Wye River Upper School study either music and/or art. The end of the year WRUS Expo gives class members the prospect of exhibiting talents to a wide audience.

Wye River Upper School is a non-profit, independent, college preparatory high school for grades 9-12. WRUS teachers and students use state-of-the-art technology in the classroom. The school is located in the Higher Education Center on the campus of Chesapeake College.
