On Saturday, June 14, Shore Health System and Wal-Mart will host the national GE Women’s Health and Wellness Tour, a custom-designed semi trailer from GE Healthcare created to help educate women about important health issues. The GE trailer will be parked at Wal-Mart,
The GE Women’s Health and Wellness Tour features educational displays of the latest clinical technologies for women’s healthcare, such as digital mammography and a 4-D laptop-size fetal monitoring ultrasound unit. Healthcare professionals from Shore Health System will use GE technologies to provide free bone density and blood pressure tests and also to educate women about the importance of disease prevention and early detection. The GE trailer will also feature information about health care during pregnancy.

The GE Women’s Health and Wellness Tour launched in mid-2004 and has traveled more than 200,000 miles. The national tour has made it possible for over 50,000 women to undergo testing and education for osteoporosis, heart disease and breast cancer.
