“The Queen Anne’s County Office of the Sheriff/Traffic Safety Program is proud to host SmartDrive for our teenage drivers. SmartDrive is an on line driving skills and knowledge program that allows our teens between the ages of sixteen and eighteen to earn points for their knowledge related to their driving. These points are then put towards earning prizes from the Delmarva Broadcasting Company and its partners. A grand prize includes a $4,000 scholarship to one lucky winner based on their participation on line and their total point accumulation.
SmartDrive is a supportive program to enhance the skills and knowledge obtained during their class time in our local driving schools and encourages our teens to continue with safe and courteous driving along our roadways upon completing the driving school.
More information can be obtained by visiting www.smartdriveusa.org.
Local businesses have donated many items and discount coupons to the Traffic Safety Office for our teen drivers to win weekly prizes for displaying the SmartDrive sticker and being “”caught”” driving on the roadways displaying their skills. Teens can sign up to participate during their lunch periods in school or by contacting Terry Ober, Traffic Safety Program Coordinator 410-758-0770 ext. 1234 or email tober@qac.org
