Philip Smith recently joined Shore Health System as Patient Accounting Manager for Patient Financial Services. In this role, he is responsible for billing and related customer service functions.

Smith, who will be relocating to Easton from Gaithersburg, comes to Shore Health System from Washington Hospital Center, a 920-bed facility in the District of Columbia, where he was Manager of Accounts Receivable for Medicaid. His other professional experience includes Manager of Financial Counseling for Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring and Business Manager and Financial Counselor for a Holy Cross Hospital clinic for the uninsured.

A graduate of Brigham Young University in Utah, Smith earned a Master’s of Health Administration from George Washington University. He is a member of the American Association of Health Care Administrative Management and is a certified patient account technician. Fluent in Spanish, Smith is an Eagle Scout and active in the Boy Scouts of America.
